Adullam House PLLC defines biblical psychotherapy according to these essential truths.
1. He is our All in All: (Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalms 62: 5-12; Ephesians 2:19-22) : Our dependence upon God is the sole source of therapy and the power for change (2 Peter 1:3) is reflected through prayer (James 5:16), worship in spirit and truth (John 4:23), and obedience to the Word of God. We pray for and with our clients in and out of session (John 15:7) and we encourage our clients to pray fervently themselves, seek God, and be doers of His word (James 1:22-25). For He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all of what our human senses and cognitions could ever conceive (Ephesians 3:20)!
2. Love: Our goal is to always speak the truth of God's word in love (Ephesians 4:15, Ephesians 4:19; John 13:34; Zechariah 8:16). We at Adullam House speak the truth in love in our own hearts first(Proverbs 27:19), in our own homes and in our houses of worship with the objective of bringing glory to God. We care about your spiritual welfare therefore, speaking the truth will foster growth and lead you to a connection with God. We speak the truth in love to pursue growth and maturity that edifies the community of believers (Ephesians 4:16).
3. Transformation & Power: The only power that changes hearts and transforms minds is the power of the Holy Spirit. Apart from Him, change does not last (John 15:5; Proverbs 21:1). Adullam House is your partner in hope and our hope rests in God alone not in the wisdom of man. The Word of God gives us a deep settled assurance that God will do exactly what He has promised to do.
4. Solution: We trust and believe that Jesus Christ is the only, all-sufficient solution for both unbelievers and believers. Jesus Christ is God's gift of Himself to us! Abide in Jesus and you have a changed life forever for He is the Bread of Life and whoever comes to Him will never go hungry and whoever believes in Him will never be thirsty (John 6:35,John 14:6; Acts 4:12; John 14: 13-14; Isaiah 53:12).
It is our prayer at Adullam House PLLC to see the body of Christ, whole in body, mind, and spirit; and to advance and multiply bible -based psychotherapy as the source and standard for mental health care in the community. We look forward to building hope partnerships within the community promoting the grace and truth of Christ in psychotherapy. We pray that the ruins of our community be rebuilt; and that citizens raise up the foundations of many generations; and assume the role repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets we live in (Isaiah 58:12).
Habakkuk 2:3
"For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay."
Adullam (Hebrew: עֲדֻלָּם) pronounced [UH] + [DUL] + [UHM] comes from 1 Samuel as part of the story of future King David. David went to the Cave of Adullam to seek refuge from King Saul. The Bible tells us that while hiding in the Cave of Adullam, David had time away from the chase, he had friends and family that gathered (about 400 men) and were a resource to him during his crisis. In the cave, David was able to hear from God, regain his composure, reactivate his God confidence through prayer and worship! Check out Psalm 57 below!
We patiently walk alongside you, encouraging you to listen and discover who God is in your life according to His word. In Bible-based therapy, we provide spiritual, emotional and behavioral support, in love through the truth and power of God's Word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
